Tuesday, August 2, 2016 around 9 am, Ray and Lynn McKay, a retired couple living in Ipswich, East Coast Australia, were awakened by a neighbor to alert them the presence of a sinkhole filled with water in their garden. If the hole was only 1 meter in diameter in the early morning, it quickly reached 8 meters in diameter with violent waves which break out inside. It could be due to a collapse of an old forgotten mine in the property. The retired couple was temporarily relocated while engineers expect that the hole stabilizes.
