A rugby player gives a punch and puts the referee in the game. On Saturday 22 April 2017, during the semi-final of the French Junior Cup between Saint-Estève (Pyrénées-Orientales) and Toulouse, a player from Saint-Estève gave a violent punch to the referee after receiving a red card. The player had made a finger of honor to the public. The referee of the meeting remained several seconds unconscious. He had to be evacuated by the firefighters and was transported to the hospital. The player in question, 21 years of age, was not at his trial, he had already been suspended for a violent altercation. He could be disbarred for life by his federation.
